What a party!

What a great time we had at Lennon Taylor's birthday party. Lennon is my really good friend Aubree's son and he turned 1...so...of course there was a big party to celebrate. The theme was "pool party!" It was so adorible.

Let's talk decorations. All the balloons looked like beach balls, there were big and small balloons in the pool, water guns all around, a kiddie pool to swim in and an even smaller blow up pool with Bolis drinks (they look like otter pops but you don't freeze them), his cake was a beach ball, pinata and my favorite part was...are you ready...all the kids got to tie dye shirts!! Is that not the best idea for a take home?! Aubree did such a great job, it makes me want to start planning Astons birthday! (oh wait, I already did start) To say the least we had a great time swimming and celebrating!! Here is some pictures:

Two new loves!

I have found two new loves. Digital Scrapbooking and making ties. Haha, let me explain!

First, when we went home for the Nielsen Family Reunion my cousin Dalynn showed me digital scrapbooking. How amazing!!! I have always loved seeing the pages people put together but could never bring myself to do it because I all ready keep so many "treasures" stored in closets I don't have room for any more "junk" as others would say. But thanks to Dalynn the heavens opened and a voice said...

"Angela, go ahead, do digital scrapbooking. Find it on the internet and download it to your external hard drive and keep your closets clean. But most of all...HAVE FUN!!"

So I did! Then I thought I would share it with all my friends and Tia (aunt) Janet. I definitely need some more practice but not to bad for my first page ever. (my opinion is the only one that matters...right?! Well, that's what I tell myself to keep me going and to keep positive.) Okay, no more waiting here it is...

Also when visiting Idaho I found a pattern for kids ties. So me being VERY optimistic thought I would buy it and try using my sewing machine (which I haven't used since I was...ummm...don't remember!) to make Aston ties for church. Well, today my friend Holly and I attempted to make them. All I can say is....Holy Moly!!! I make a good looking tie! Not to brag or nothing but I was really impressed with myself. I made 3 and have 7 more cut out and ready to be finished. Check it out...

So all and all, I have added 2 more things to my list of loves. When am I going to find time to do all of this!! :O)

July 4th to Mid August

Well with the discovery of Facebook we've had a hard time keeping up with all these media news outlets. With that said lets catch up!!

We spent  a quiet 4th of July with some family friends and introduced Aston to his first swimming experience. We discovered the little guy is a fish. Aston was kicking and smiling.
Aston was so happy to be in there.

He woke up the next day and played dress up to play a spoof with the missionaries at church. He later told me he just wanted more attention.

Aston and Mom have been enjoying the mild weather this summer. And with frequent backyard visits they worked up a little tan before our trip to Idaho.

Angela and Aston packed us up!!

Then we were off to the land of peace and quiet.

We had a down home good time with the Nielsen clan! We love the family time and the friendly competitions and the good old outdoors.
:)

The kids went looking for horns and Aston was elated to have found his fist one!!
After a good hike we had to do have a little fun and relax next to the Snake River.

We had a full menu of small medium large and XL!!

From spending time together at the house to time on the lake we had a blast!

Back at the house Aston decided to fill up Grandma's sink and take a little dip. No one wanted to join him though. As I looked at the picture a little better I realized why.

This is Peace and Paradise!! We'll miss you.

We then had to come back to the rat race so we did what you do here in L.A.!! Went to the Hollywood Bowl and watched Guys and Dolls. Aston did great at his first outdoor musical theatre experience.

This week I had the opportunity to go to Dodger sport camp. Compliments of Charlie Smith (Thank you so much). So excited to have been invited.  The highlight was hitting a few home runs over the other team!

We truly feel blessed to have our son healthy and happy. We have so much fun with him. There is no greater gift in this life than the gift of parenthood.

GO ANGELS!!

Yesterday Aston and I where at the park with our friends when daddy called and said..."You, Aston and I are going to the Angels game tonight!" Of course my first thought was, What?! So I asked Giulliano the 3 w's...where, who, and why. (those are always my first questions for him) He told me that his concrete supply company (Robertson's Ready Mix) had a box and they invited us to come. Yeahhhh!! We did it, finally we made the concrete big time! Haha, that's what I tell my hubby. Anyway, it was a great night. Giulliano died and went to heaven when the "big boy" concrete company was there and they liked his ideas. They even want to have another meeting with him about working together. Finally...he came back down to earth and we got to enjoy the game together as a family. As for Aston, he really liked it, he couldn't stop looking around...left, right, up, down, all around. Looks like we will have to do a Dodger game next!

Boston Cream Pie anyone?!

Yes, I made this! And I made only one with no mistakes. I know...I know kinda hard to believe! (some of you know that when I make dessert I better have enough to make a second one cause I tend to not pay attention and mess it up sometimes.) On this Boston Cream Pie I knew I had to do it right the first time though cause I only had one vanilla bean and if I screwed up we were in trouble. Why you ask?! Because this pie was for my father-in-laws birthday. And it had to be perfect, if ya know what I mean! (gotta impress the in-laws) Ya wanna know why I think I didn't mess up this one....I started making it at....you ready for this?? 11pm!! I know WHAT WAS I THINKING!! But it turned out so good I might start baking this late every time. I must pay more attention cause I'm so tired. Okay that's a lie, I won't bake this late again.
If I can help it. :O)
Anyway, It was a great Sunday and birthday party. Dinner was AMAZING! Giulliano made his famous Italian lasagna. We went to the Italian market and got the ingredients and everything. I can't even believe how Giulliano walks into the grocery store and just starts grabbing things and then go's home and then just starts throwing it all together with out a recipe. It baffles me! But I am soooo glad he can cause I benefit from it. Oh...so this lasagna was so big that he had to put it into my roasting pan!! 5 layers of goodness...I'm salivating just thinking about it. Man, I should have taken a picture. And now we have a secret family recipe! (when I say family I mean Giulliano, Angela, and Aston)
Well, here are just a few pictures from the evening.

Trip to the Farm!!

Thursday Aston and I went to our first play group! It was at the farm and I think Aston really liked getting back to his roots. I think at one point he even told me he wanted to move back to Idaho and have his own farm with Grandpa Nielsen! Okay, really he is to young to enjoy the amazing farm experience BUT we'll go back when he's older and I know he'll love it!!

After the farm we went shopping with our friends at the outlet stores. I wasn't planning on buying anything but that changed when I went into one of the stores and what did they have...Concrete clothes! Yes I said concrete outfits. It's so weird, everything right now for little boys has to do with concrete. Of course Giulliano loves it and I benefit too cause then I get to buy for my little guy.

Anyway, we took lots of pictures of course, so again....ENJOY!

Aston at the front gates of the farm...
Isn't he a cute farmer...
Smile big boy...
I got my smile and then my little man fell face first into the hay! Sorry big boy...
